iMathGeo 2.1 RC1 IS finally out.

iMathGeo is a software which allows you to :

Using iTunes

Powerplant update

The new version of powerplant is fully compatible with Navigation service (sheet window) and print session with sheet window.

Before I used special Navigation service I Rewrote.

I've to rewrote too powerplant to fully manage the activate/deactivate processus.

Major Powerplant update

Introduction

When I began to develop softwares, I searched a powerful framework.

The most powerful I found, was Powerplant from CodeWarrior.

For me in the 2.2 version, it's the most effective Framework I've ever seen.

It lacks of :
sheet windows
Drawer windows
ToolBar Windows
Metal Windows (in state of prototype)
and some useful controls (searchfield and comboBox).

To avoid this problem, I rewrite all the core mecanism of Sheet window, drawer Window etc...

I had too to rewrite the navigation service because there was some bugs in the toolbox OS X 10.2.4.

Some visual effects aren't present for Metal window, it's possible to develop exactly the same technology but I have to rewrite the control system too (I don't use the compositing way).

The Metal window hasn't been finished yet because I developed this technology only in 5 days.

How is it possible to use the new framework ?

go into the Catalog of Contructor where you drag and drop the new Window LWindowSheet in your project.
go into the property inspector, and choose too :

the window Proc is equal to 68 (c'est une définition personnel)
Uncheck Initialy visible (in the other case the program will crash), the window sheet at his creation isn't visible because you've to bind here with here parent window.
You cas see that the resource is 135.
There is a new parameter : SetWindowAlpha, this parameter is for transparences purpose 0 % à 100%.
It's possible to check : size box, resizeable. After the window will live resizeable.

Normal sheet

For controls, Panes, Views, you've only to drag and drop them from the catalog of constructor. It's like the others windows mecanism.
You can add any attachment you want (contextual menu, theme, etc..).

I notice there isn't any problem.

It's possible to modify the layout hirearchie.
You can see that there two new SPecial views which are manage from the toolbar custom resource.
After you have only to drag and drop all the contols, Pane, Views, etc.. in the two specials views.

Conclusion

In conclusion, you can see that it's a proof of the concept. The developpement is very easy when you are familiar with the 2.2 Framework.

The concept of the Metal window isn't finshed yet. But with some efforts it's possible to develop exactly the same Metal Window as Apple develop too.

I use an engine of publication which is called SPIP and I always use the same version that I modify in-house (in some cases i modifiy the data bases and interfaces intern of SPIP) to obtain

Installation Instructions for installing the 2.6.2 version

1. Download
Click the large icon at the bottom of this page to download iMathGeo.

2. Mount
Wait until the download is complete. If your web browser and system are properly configured, Disk Copy or Finder will open and mount the downloaded disk image. If this does not happen, locate in Finder the .dmg file that you downloaded and double-click it to open the file. (Double-check to be sure that you've quit all running copies of iMathGeo before you continue any further...)

3. Install
When the disk image mounts, a new Finder window will open that contains the icon for your iMathGeo installation package. Simply Double click the installer application.

4. Try it
You can test it and thereafter, you've to pay 24.99$ to continue to use it.

Here's the new 2.6.2 final version :

iMathGeo export a whole document in LaTeX text or in a PDF document, and now it's time to export to MathML format through the xhtml file type (for FireFox) or html format (for Safari or any web browser).
At least, there's a new format : epub to build your own math document for iBooks.

In every document window, you can mix every sort of objects. At this point I have developp :

2D Graphics objects (cartésienne, parametric et polar, i develop actually a inequation graphic solution)

The grammar of the code is extensible.
The code is build around a C++ calculus framework.
Scriptable abilities. (in fact : Applescriptable).
Recordablities (iMathGeo is totally recordable under Applescript).

Notes

The symbolic kernel is build around the multiprocessing API (application programming interface).
It's possible to control each tasks with his weight.

for the graphics I use always the drag and drop way to modify the processing zone. And it's possible to drop the Open GL graphic as jpeg output (or png, eps, tiff, etc...).

For the 2D object the output when I drag and drop a image is a pict file, for me it's better because I can modify the image directly under MS Word or other software.

Now you can directly change the aspect of the document without opening the color or the font palette.
It's possible now to add, divide (etc ...)the last two lines.
It's possible to apply a shadow to the text, it's useful in the case of a white font.
The substitution process is totally rewritten, now it's possible to do basic superscripting, like a:=3/2.
The Applescript management is rewritten too. All elements are objects, who have properties (matrices, 2D/3D graphics, titles, variables, etc...). The document is now scriptable too with the font management, color etc...
You can export a line through Applescript.
You can export all the document to a LaTeX or a pdf file..
You can export each lines to a specified image format (tiff/jpeg, etc...) trough the contextual menu. It's always possible with litteral expression too.
It's possible to add/substract lines.
It's possible to manage subscript.
It's possible to add in the document some titles. It's useful to find rapidly some information in the document.
Now it's possible through Applescript to do dynamic geometry.
Now I add a spotlight plug-in. Now it's easy to find expressions in your documents
I add too a quickLook plug-in.

Typograficall adds

Now the engine manage the spaces between each caracters.
Now it's possible to manage all the fonts and you can use them with all the classical operators.
I add new operators, like approximately, different ....
Now it's possible to manage matrices
It's possible to manage new symbols, the symbols Real, Complex, Natural, etc ...
It's possible to write such expression : AB'+BC' or f'(x) etc....
Now it's possible to use the the underscore symbol.
It's possible to use the °,* symbol.
It's time to use the integral an sum symbol too.
It's always possible to use the, angle, arc and vector symbol too.
It's possible to write from two manners a differential.

The communication is improved

The communication inspector is rewritten, it's possible to personnalize all the the inspector
Word 2008 SP1 is now supported. But if the document is to long, you'll notice some problems of performance, it's a problem of word.
Now Indesign CS3 is totally supported, you can manage all the fonts.

Bugs

Many bugs corrections, the performance are better and the memory management too.

It's possible to have a transparent background for all the graphics.
to add some squaring to the 2D graph and to change the color of the curve and the axes.

iMathGeo has now a customizable toolbar.

all the multitasking architecture is rewritten too.

The importation and the exportation/Importation are better than before :

Indesign CS3 is supprted and CS2 too
iWork 08 (Pages, Keynote, Numbers)
iWeb 2/iWeb 1
and always Word VX and Word 2004.

Why "iMathGeo" & "Softwares" ?

1. "iMathGeo"

iMathGeo is a software I developed a long time ago when I began to teach.
A user told me one time : It's a fantastic note book who can export and manage formal expressions and mathematic graphics

2. "Softwares"

Why softwares, because I like to code in many directions :
php/java/etc to teach (making some activities for my schoolers).
building big solution like web server to be my own hoster for me and all the teachers
building files server
developping web site for some companies or association.
developping framework for societies (like the Powerplant framework).

etc...

Developpment of dynamics web sites based on a prepress engine : SPIP

self development of a framwork SPIP which combine php, html, css, etc..
I totally manage this web technologies (css, html, xhtml, php,mysql , etc...)
The web design was build without any software solution.

Deployement of Web server :

private chroot account reachable from ftp. (more secure solution)
- possible management of the account creattion externely (with an hmlt interface)
- private management with .htaccess or .htppasswd

multihoming solution
management of the mysql server externaly
management of the Appache server (with possibities to create a hireachy from all the accounts in the whole web site).
