The new version of powerplant is fully compatible with Navigation service (sheet window) and print session with sheet window.

Before I used special Navigation service I Rewrote.

Here's the article.

I've to rewrote too powerplant to fully manage the activate/deactivate processus.

Here's an example of using navigation service.


Navigations services

It manage fully the save as dialog.
the print session with sheet window.

It's always possible to use with a flag :
My navigation service.
or the Apple navigation service.

Now with the version, it's possible to use the drawer window which was at the beginning was a problem with the sheet window.

This version is fully compatible with Xcode/Codewarrior 8.3 and codewarrior 9.6.

Introduction

When I began to develop softwares, I searched a powerful framework.

The most powerful I found, was Powerplant from CodeWarrior.

For me in the 2.2 version, it's the most effective Framework I've ever seen.

It lacks of :
sheet windows
Drawer windows
ToolBar Windows
Metal Windows (in state of prototype)
and some useful controls (searchfield and comboBox).

To avoid this problem, I rewrite all the core mecanism of Sheet window, drawer Window etc...

I had too to rewrite the navigation service because there was some bugs in the toolbox OS X 10.2.4.

Some visual effects aren't present for Metal window, it's possible to develop exactly the same technology but I have to rewrite the control system too (I don't use the compositing way).

The Metal window hasn't been finished yet because I developed this technology only in 5 days.

How is it possible to use the new framework ?

I For the sheet window :

You have to :


Property

go into the Catalog of Contructor where you drag and drop the new Window LWindowSheet in your project.
go into the property inspector, and choose too :

the window Proc is equal to 68 (c'est une définition personnel)
Uncheck Initialy visible (in the other case the program will crash), the window sheet at his creation isn't visible because you've to bind here with here parent window.
You cas see that the resource is 135.
There is a new parameter : SetWindowAlpha, this parameter is for transparences purpose 0 % à 100%.
It's possible to check : size box, resizeable. After the window will live resizeable.

Normal sheet

For controls, Panes, Views, you've only to drag and drop them from the catalog of constructor. It's like the others windows mecanism.
You can add any attachment you want (contextual menu, theme, etc..).

I notice there isn't any problem.

I For the Toolbar window :

It is even simpler than with APPLE all is done with constructor, the icons too.

You create un toolbar window (it's a new custom resource)
It's possible to modify the layout hirearchie.
You can see that there two new SPecial views which are manage from the toolbar custom resource.
After you have only to drag and drop all the contols, Pane, Views, etc.. in the two specials views.

Conclusion

In conclusion, you can see that it's a proof of the concept. The developpement is very easy when you are familiar with the 2.2 Framework.

The concept of the Metal window isn't finshed yet. But with some efforts it's possible to develop exactly the same Metal Window as Apple develop too.
